Our History

In 1980, Robert E. Shanks — a true entrepreneur at heart — founded BLAS/CO Construction with a simple goal: to build with integrity, quality, and care. From the beginning, he set the standard for craftsmanship and service that would shape the family business for generations.

His son, Bobby Shanks, grew up on job sites, joining his dad at just 12 years old. What started as a childhood introduction quickly grew into a lifelong passion for construction and serving the community.

Now, with the third generation stepping in, Kogan Shanks and his father are proud to lead Atlas General Contracting into a new era. Together, they continue the family tradition of hard work, innovation, and a commitment to building spaces that last a lifetime.
